all my bags are packed
i've recently fallen in love with bucket backpacks. i'm not the proud owner of one yet but i'm hoping to invest in one soon. at the same time i have to wonder what i would wear it with. a jeans and t-shirt combo? a cute skirt and button up? i'm not sure but the bucket backpacks have left me thinking about those wonderful first day of school moments. where you get to wear a brand new outfit, squeaky and clean shoes that almost seem too tight, fresh notebooks and sharpened pencils all jammed into a newly purchased book bag. the feeling you get when it seems like your life is an open book just waiting to be written. its the kind of feeling i miss now that i'm out of school and i'm hoping that an investment like this will help bring it back:

this weeks life lessons:
- never doubt your local sports teams (incase you're having issues remembering your math lebron james, 102 is greater than 90).
- thinking your family got food poisoning the one night a week you decide to go out is foolish. it was the flu. and guess what? since you live in a house with 7 and 8 year olds, you're going to get it.
- wearing new heels on your first day of work is foolish: breaking them in while breaking into your new job is not a good idea.
- if you watch too much bones, you will start dreaming of solving murders
- life is kind: the real housewives of beverly hills has been renewed
intrenched
today i was home sick, which means i got to spend some time on one of my favorite websites, modcloth. while there i became engrossed in their outwear section and couldn't help but marvel at the following trenches:

less than 101 things to do in new york
recently i've gone back to reading my summer favorite: time out new york (tony). i love the sight because it always gives me great ideas for things to do in the city and it offers sites for a variety of other cities. once on the city you can view bar and restaurant reviews, where to go for certain nightlife scenes, new music acts, art events, where shopping sales are occurring and lists of things to do. which leads me to my entry; i recently viewed a list of 101 things to do in new york city, below i have listed my favorites:
Analyze art in Central Park
Scour seasonal flea markets
Hang out in beer gardens
Have a flashback at a Spring Fling party
Experience the Macy’s Flower Show
See Broadway’s newest attractions
Experience Gallery Week
Rock out at museum parties
Marvel at street art
Browse—and buy—at the Affordable Art Fair
Party by the river—for free
Explore a secret garden in the East Village
See Alexander McQueen’s mind-bending dresses at the Met
Stay trendy and in the black

i die
today i stumbled upon my new spring must have: an elizabeth and james spring blazer:
its the perfect neutral with the most gorgeous embellishing, making it both an amazing piece and a necessity. i can't wait to wear it with a pair of jeans and a black tank from j. crew or my new navy tory burch dress. it would also look beautiful with a pair of black shorts and a patterned tank or t-shirt. so many options!
